First you will need a tape measure. Place the end of the measuring tape in the middle of your fore head about 1 inch above your eyebrows. Wrap the tape around your head ( make sure this is above your ears) . Slip one finger under the tape for ease. Take the measurement. Repeat twice for accuracy. The size will range from 20-25 inches.( 22 1/2 -23 inches is average, If a standard store bought hat fits you perfectly measurement should be within this range.)

Don't worry we custom fit hats for all head sizes, too.
Please allow 4-5 business days for ready-to-wear hats, 4-12 weeks for a bespoke hat and a minimum of 4 weeks-12 weeks for restorations. If you need your hat sooner please contact us prior to placing an order. Custom rush orders may incur an additional fee.
Hats are shipped USPS Priority Mail, USPS Express Guaranteed, or FedEx with insurance. Insurance is included within the shipping total.
International Orders are shipped via USPS International and UPS.

We can restore your hats silhouette, clean, add a mending stitch or resize your hat.
We offer restoration service at no charge for our Carolina Millinery label. We also offer trimming changes for our Carolina Millinery and Carolina Hat Girl labels.

We are sure you will love our heirloom quality hats! We understand buying a hat that hasn't been tried on yet can be challenging but rest assured, if for any reason you are unhappy please return your unworn hat within 7 days of receipt. (excludes custom ordered, dyed and custom color hats) We will happily refund or exchange your hat.We want you to be happy!

The one hour consultation fee is charged to hold your appointment slot. We will allow one reschedule if cancellation is made up to 24 hours before your appointment time. The fee is deducted from your final purchase.
How do you plan on using your hat? Is it for a special occasion or everyday wear? Are you starting with the hat or the garment?
For special occasion wear if you choose to start with the garment first you are encouraged to bring in your garment and accessories ie. (shoes, handbag, jewelry).
We recommend wearing your hair in your most common style.
For hair loss clients bring in your hair piece if you will wear it under your hat.
We offer private fitting areas for maximum comfort.
We offer private fitting areas in our atelier for your comfort. We also do mobile fittings at your location.
Yes, we offer hat making workshops and private instruction during the year. Check our calendar for dates. *Prior sewing skills are recommended before taking a millinery class.
No, we do not travel to teach at this time. We would be happy to refer you to workshops in your area and instructors that travel.
Yes, we do! We want the tradition of fine hat making to continue. We believe in sharing our gift with our youth! For more information on our youth mentorship program please contact us.
Yes, we accept internship applications in January of each year. Our paid internship program starts March 1st and ends June 1st. The intern chosen will work with the hat maker to learn hat making techniques and daily studio operations. Intern should have completed at least one year in a fashion/ accessories design program.
We take pride in helping our community. As a small business we are limited in our ability to donate to each request we receive. We donate to youth groups and special needs charities that are chosen at the beginning of each year.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
